Dr visit stats---

Babies both head down- YAY!!
2 cm dilated
50% thinned out.
-1 station (could feel one of the heads)

Both babies breathing and moving like crazy.
We did not need a non-stress test. The Dr. gave the babies an 8 out of 8 on his "score chart" so things are looking great!

Todays thoughts

The boys are at the park with their sweet babysitter Kiley. She so kindly offered to take them so that I could have a relaxing afternoon. Did I mention that this offer came on Wednesday night when she along with some other Young Women and leaders were here CLEANING MY HOUSE??!!
This post is about how thankful I am for everyone who has helped get me through this pregnancy.
I never thought I would make it to 35 weeks and still be going strong.

Ashtons school has been bringing us meals the last couple of weeks. They will continue to do so until the babies are born and then for 3 weeks after.

Friends have taken the boys during doctors appointments.

Friends have taken the boys for play dates.

So many offers for anything and everything in between.

But mostly, my sweet hubby.
He caters to my every need.
Gives me long back rubs every single night without hesitation.
He has started taking Ashton to school and picking him up so that I don't have to have any extra walking around.
He always tells me how beautiful I look and tells me how proud he is of me for carrying these babies.
I don't know what I would do without him and his support. Especially these last few weeks (or days depending on when these 2 decide to come).
We are getting anxious and excited for our two new babies!

A great day!

Baby A (right) kissing B's (left) head

We had an awesome appointment today.
It was our last visit with the specialist and all is perfect.
She hugged us and told us how happy she was that our pregnancy has been so great.
She couldn't believe that I never had to go on bed rest, and there were never any other complications.
I will still see my regular OB weekly, but I will miss our specialist.

Baby A weighed in at 5 lbs 1 ounce and baby B was 5 lbs. 4 ounces.
Both were head down and were practicing their breathing throughout the appointment.
Keep growing (not so) little guys!

A night I will never forget...

Friday night was in full swing. Dinner was over and it was almost movie time. I don't remember anything specific triggering the pain in my back-it was just a sudden lightning bolt down the left side of my body. I couldn't put any weight on my left foot, and any movement triggered muscle spasms of epic proportion. I have never had serious back problems before, and I knew this had something to do with my sciatic nerve (probably baby A pinching it). As I collapsed to the floor, I called to Tommy for help and tried to adjust my body so that the spasms would stop. After a few minutes on the floor, we tried to get me up and to the couch. It was an effort that took probably 5 minutes to walk 5 feet. Once I was settled on the couch I tried to relax as much as possible so that the pain would dull. Being 8+ months pregnant it's not easy to sit still. I am constantly trying to adjust my body to get comfortable. But every time I tried the spasms would start again. Being the avid water drinker that I am, I knew I would have to get up and go sometime soon, and probably frequently throughout the night. After an hour or so on the couch, I tried to get up to go to the bathroom. The pain was so intense that I started shaking and felt a little dizzy. Other than labor, I have never felt pain this bad. It was making me nauseous and have mild contractions. Probably because I was tensing all of my muscles. We decided that going upstairs and laying on the bed would be the best option, so Tommy picked me (or all three of us) up and carried me upstairs and to my room. When he laid me down the spasms started again and so did my tears. The pain was almost unbearable and I couldn't imagine getting through the night. I probably go to the bathroom 3-4 times in the night, and I roll over numerous times. At this point I could barely lift my head without lightning bolts of pain in my lower back. Of course Tommy figured out a plan and brought in the computer chair (it has wheels) and wheeled me to the bathroom from bed. The night was long, but I managed to get rest (after many prayers) and before long it was morning. My back was still very sore, but the spasms had stopped and I could move again. I was lucky enough to stay in bed all day Saturday and by dinnertime I actually was able to walk downstairs on my own. I am so thankful that this ordeal happened over a weekend.
I am also thankful for a loving husband who stood by my side, carried me and made me feel like everything was going to be ok.

At the MOST I will be pregnant for only 5.5 more weeks.
Our "goal date" is only 3 weeks away-and after a fun night of contractions on Sunday, I will be packing my hospital bag soon!
We are so busy the next few weeks that it will be here before we know it.
I'm excited for my baby showers this week and next... those will probably be my last outings for the next few weeks. We don't want these guys to come too early.
With my other babies, I didn't really know how to prepare for their arrival. I did as much as I could, but it was a learning process. This time around I feel like we are overly prepared-which is a good thing. We did a lot of organizing and got rid of a lot of things this last weekend.
Getting excited to meet our little boys!

31 week thoughts...

Wow, 31 weeks.
The further along I get the sooner I think these babies will come.
34 weeks is a big milestone. I think for me 36 weeks is a good goal.
The contractions come more frequently and are more painful, but thanks to yoga I am able to breath through them.
I had a very nice talk with Ashtons teacher yesterday. She has a set of boy/girl twins and it was great to have a positive conversation with someone who has been through it. She also had some great advice.
I am constantly amazed at my body and how it is growing. Still no stretch marks, but I expect them to come-hopefully not though.
Apparently the babies are huge (100th percentile and 86th percentile) and they are swimming around in a bunch of fluid-my dr. assures me that I will be a size 0 again as soon as I deliver. I know that's a bit of an exaggeration, but I can't even begin to imagine how light I will feel after these guys are on the outside.
Everyday things are getting harder (walking quickly, bending over, picking up things on the floor) but that's to be expected. I don't envy anyone carrying more than 2 babies-not fun!
Even though both babies are head down, I think we will opt for a C-section. It's safer (and I can get my tubes tied!!!) and seems less risky. I would hate to have a problem halfway through a vaginal birth and have to get a C-section too-double whammy!
Well, Here is to the next few weeks to get us over the 34 week hump!
These babies will be here before we know it and we can't wait.

Too cute!

I was shopping on Etsy today, and this picture got me even more excited about these 2 little babes on their way!
